In many previous blog posts, I have briefly referred to my favorite music, but I have never actually mentioned them by name. I was originally not going to share their name simply for the fact that while I am a loyal Winston Music customer, I can acknowledge that there would likely be other music stores in other parts of the world that do an equally wonderful job that Winston Music does.
Before I go further, I want it to be understood that Winston Music is completely unaware that I am writing this and that I have not been paid in any way, shape or form by Winston Music or Dale Cleves Music Store, which Winston Music is a part of. Truth be told, this is my opinion and no-one is paying me for my opinion!
I am a loyal Winston Music customer simply because I get fantastic service there. Sometimes I have come in looking for specific piano books, which if I can’t find, a staff member will. If they don’t stock it they can order it in for me, which I know a lot of places will, but the thing I appreciate the most is an honest timeline for a piece of music or an item to come in.
Sometimes I have come in with only a general idea of what I am looking for and I will have someone to listen to what I want before making suggestions. One occasion when I wasn’t really certain on what I was looking for, the person that was assisting me pulled out a box of newly arrived, newly published piano books for intermediate students and asked whether I’d like to have a look and explaining that they were still in the box because they were recent arrivals and staff hadn’t had the chance to actually put them on the shelves.
Another reason why Winston Music is my favorite music store is due to the fact that I never feel rushed or pushed to quickly buy what I’m buying and leave, in other words I find the staff very friendly.
I find the staff very knowledgeable and open to answering questions. Part of the reason why I like them so much is that I not only buy piano books from there but I also buy trombone and saxophone books and accessories from Winston Music and because I don’t know that much about these particular musical instruments, I sometimes seek their advice. If one staff member is not sure, they will ask someone else who does know. Here’s the bit I really appreciate: they don’t sell me unnecessary stuff. Recently I was in the store buying other stuff and I had a last minute thought that my son might need more saxophone reeds. I had a quick conversation about how many spares he had and the conclusion by the staff member was that he indeed had enough.
The last reason I like Winston Music is that is that they are only 10 minutes away but thinking about it, I would still be a loyal customer if I had to travel a lot further.
If you also live in Adelaide, South Australia, I would encourage you to contact or visit Winston Music in Daw Park because if you are after a piano or piano music, they can certainly help you out!
