A piano teacher will encourage and help you sort out your practicing time. They will encourage you during those times that you don’t feel like you are making much progress. They will help problem solve any isssues you have surrounding anything to do with your piano practice, any performing that you want to do and anything about your piano. A piano teacher will be your personal cheer squad.
A piano teacher will also tell you when you haven’t got something right. They will correct your mistakes and they will instruct you how to make your playing of a particular piece of music go from good to great.
Piano teachers will source music that is in keeping with your personal preferences and they will source versions that are appropriate to your current level of expertise. They will also periodically expose you to other pieces of music, that might not be your taste but they could become your taste. They will also give you music to not only expand your tastes in music but they will give you pieces of music that expand your current skill level.
A piano teacher will treat you as the individual that you are and will do what they can to help you along the way. This is not the exceptional teachers, this is actually what the average piano teacher will do for you. No online music course, no matter how good it is – and there are several high quality ones, can compete with the individual attention you can get from an experienced piano teacher.
