Welcome!

Welcome to you all!

It’s nice that you’re here and hopefully you’ll enjoy my blog.

I’ve been a piano teacher for a long time now and I’ve frequently had adults tell me that they wish they’d had the opportunity to learn the piano when they were a kid.

Well, its not too late – it really doesn’t matter because you can learn as an adult and I think retirement is the perfect time as you have the time and patience to learn.

Maybe you took lessons for a few years, but didn’t have the patience to stick with it – you can pick up where you left off. It really is not too late to recommence learning the piano.

The point is that it’s never too late to learn the piano and yes, you can play the music you want to. Obviously its going to take time and patience but time is something a retiree has plenty of and patience is something that you get better at with age.

Just because the experts say that the best time to learn a musical instrument is when you are a kid, does not mean that you can only learn when you are a kid. Sure, it might have been better to learn when you were a kid but things happen in life that is far from the ideal and we all make the best of the circumstances that happen in life. Your time is now, because now is really all we can work with. We can’t change the past and the future is determined by what we do now.

So, if you need a little encouragement or need some practical information about playing or learning the piano in retirement, then you are in the right place. My hope is that this blog will be a comfortable place where we can talk about all things piano.

Here’s to a wonderful journey, filled with many hours of music.
